Week 6: It's So Hard to Say Goodbye

Hello fellow teacher candidates,

Here it is, the moment we have all been dreading...the last blog! This class has been so much fun and I enjoyed how hands on it was and collaborative. I learned a lot from my peers and I enjoyed working alongside them as we expanded our digital dossiers! This class has opened my eyes to so many new online and interactive tools that can be incorporated into the classroom and I think that they were all beneficial in their own way.

I am excited for what is to come next and for my digital journey to grow as I learn more about teaching and experience my own placement. I hope that everyone enjoyed their tech class experience as much as I did and learned a lot! At first I was worried that some of the assignments would be difficult and I wouldn't enjoy completing them but I really did have fun working on my Genius Hour and creating something that I can be proud of. I also really enjoyed filming and editing my Ted Talk, although there were some bumps in the road!

I will be continuing on with my teacher candidate career and you may still see me on Twitter!

Happy blogging and see ya real soon!

Week 5

Hello fellow teacher candidates!

I feel like I say this every week but I cannot believe that it is already week 5 for this class! Also Happy Birthday General Brock, there are some awesome celebrations going on today!

It is really hard to describe to people what teacher's education is like when they ask me. It is overwhelming, wonderful, fun, and I am really loving it! I have made so many friends and my fellow teacher candidates are all fantastic. I also love how inspiring my professors are and how they truly want to see us succeed in the field. I am very proud of myself for what I have accomplished thus far and I am excited to see what is to come in the following months! Today is the last day before reading week and I am glad  that we get a break but I think the weeks following reading week will be the most fun because I will hopefully have a placement. School can be stressful but I always look forward to going to my classes and collaborating with my peers.

In terms of my vision board, it has been a really gratifying experience to have something physical of what I want  to achieve in my future. I wake up every morning and look at it to remind myself why I am doing what I am doing and where I want to be in the next couple of years. This really has made an impact on my life and it reminds me of how special vision boards can be when you implement them into a students life. I have a bunch of ideas swirling in my head for how I am going to set up my lesson plan for my Genius Hour, especially because vision boards can be implemented into almost every subject. They would be really great for a literacy class, religion, or just in general to set overall goals for the year.

Happy blogging!
