Gamification: This badge was beneficial because it demonstrated how to engage students by adding a game like aspect to lessons in order to encourage them to complete their work. This badge also demonstrated how to make the lessons fun but also challenging enough that the students would not lose interest.
Digital ID: The Digital Identity badge allowed me to ensure that I was portraying myself in a professional way online so that employers can see my positive digital dossier being formed. We did this through creating professional avatars and creating Pinterest pages that provide some information on our backgrounds. This badge also allowed me to become knowledgeable on TPACK.
Digizen: Copyright plays a large role in creating lessons and informing your students on not claiming other people's hard work as their own. This badge was particularly important because it helped me to become aware of copyright issues and how to make presentations that are copyright free, therefore I can show my students the importance of citing pictures and information that is not their own. Cybersafety is also a greatly significant topic to discuss with your students because they spend a lot of their time online nowadays. It is important that they are practicing safe exploration online, especially when technology is being integrated into the classroom.
PBL: The skill that I was able to broaden through this badge was my brainstorming process. Through Popplet and Bubble.us I can easily create a web that organizes all of my ideas on a particular topic. I think that this is beneficial for students because it allows them to have a neat and organized web that they can work on collaboratively.
PJBL: This badge broadened my horizons on activities that you can integrate into the classroom to make learning more fun and engaging. For example you can incorporate Word Searches, MadLibs, Wordles and many more activities into lesson plans to make the content more appealing. My skill of researching new websites for lesson plans grew through this badge.
